Initially unsure if fiction was the right path, Dr. Velma found clarity after reading a Christian blogger explain how Jesus himself used parables and stories to convey deeper meanings in a compelling yet non-threatening way. She realized fiction could become a channel for God's truth, allowing readers to immerse themselves in the story and find their own path to transformation.

Dr. Velma is thrilled and humbled to follow Jesus' example as a master storyteller, shining light into hearts through inspiring tales. She contributes regularly to Victorious by Design Magazine's Love Zone and occasionally guest blogs for fellow Christian authors.

As CEO of Adoni Publishing, Dr. Velma self-publishes her growing collection of spiritual fiction and nonfiction. She also co-authors children's books with her beloved granddaughter.

With over 30 years of experience counseling and coaching singles, Dr. Velma offers wisdom and guidance to those seeking healthy relationships and marriage. Encouraged by her daughters, she wrote a relationship-focused book to empower single women to find the love they deserve. She does not hesitate to share with transparency the ups and downs of her own 48-year marriage. Many consider her a mentor and appreciate her sincerity in responding to requests for prayer, advice, or just a listening ear.

Dr. Velma has spent over 40 years in Christian ministry as an ordained minister, theologian, teacher, and speaker. She holds a Doctorate in Theology and has served in various roles including lead of the Women's Ministry, Associate Minister, Sunday School teacher, and college theology professor. She has been a featured speaker at churches, ministries, and events across the Bay Area. Her passion is living out and teaching God's truths.

Dr. Velma is passionate about empowering women in their faith and ministry calling. She strives to inspire women to grow in their relationship with God and live out their divine purpose.

In addition to her work in ministry, Dr. Velma recently retired from a 38-year career with the State of California. She served as a Deputy Administrator overseeing employment centers, supervising staff, and leading organizational management.

​

With decades of experience in teaching, speaking, and guiding others, Dr. Velma is committed to sharing God's truth and making a difference through ministry. She believes in bearing fruit for the kingdom and exemplifying faith through action.

A Pastor's Wife, Mother,

and Grandmother

 

Dr. Velma supports her husband of over 49 years in pastoring their church. Together they have raised two daughters, welcomed a son-in-law, and enjoy time with their three grandchildren. Her faith and family are the foundations sustaining all she does.
