Loving A Good, Expensive, Treasure - YOU

Sometimes, as women, we can use a little motivation to love ourselves. Loving YOU is an important part of the three love tiers in a relationship. The three main tiers are: loving God, loving yourself, then loving your mate. Scripture shows us two things about this: Psalms 139 reminds us how God detailed every feature about you when He made you; and according to Ephesians 5:29 NLT, “No one hates his own body but feeds it and cares for it,” This means that every woman is an intricate designer, original, who cares for and loves herself.

Well, here are a few truths about you, which says you are a good, expensive treasure:

· You are a treasure (wealth, prize). People who own expensive treasures, will secure them under lock and key, in a bank vault, or a security alarm to ensure the treasure is hidden from thieves who cannot see or get to them. Ladies, as a treasure, you are the prize to any man! When your mate finds you, his only response is how fortunate and blessed he is to find someone as valuable as you. Scripture says in Proverbs 18:22 NLT “When a man finds a treasure (wife)…” The word “finds” in the original language means “meets”—therefore when a man meets his treasure—it is YOU.

· You are good (quality, virtuous). Proverbs 18:22 KJV continues with, “… he finds a good thing.” So far, we know you are the prize, you are a treasure, and you are a good thing. In the very first book of the scripture, at creation, God referred to the woman as necessary to rectify a problem He called “not good.” God identified the problem and His answer to the dilemma was the woman. He built the woman to fix the “not good” problem; therefore, she is called good.

· You are expensive (valuable, high worth). God not only says you are a virtuous woman—a woman of worth, upright, moral, and honest; but also describes your worth as very expensive — “far above rubies,” according to Proverbs 31.10. The ruby is considered the King of the Gems and among royalty, rubies are the preferred gem.

According to the Ruby Gemstone Guide, the ruby “is the most easily recognizable gemstone in the world. The name comes from the word ruber, the Latin word for red. The ruby is some of the highest-priced colored gemstones. One carat is valued at up to $15,000 depending on size and color.” (https://www.bluenile.com/education/gemstone/ruby?)

Ladies, we encourage you to accept who you are as a cherished gift God created. Each time you look in the mirror and see the person looking back at you, affirm your love for her—she is a good, expensive, treasure. Now, that’s the truth.
